This term, our theme is Cultures Around the World, and what better way to begin than by exploring our very own rich Kenyan heritage? Our students had an exciting educational trip to the National Museum, where they discovered fascinating aspects of Kenya’s traditions, history, and culture.
During the visit, the children had the chance to see traditional Kenyan clothing, learning about the different fabrics, colors, and styles worn by various communities. They were also amazed by the variety of musical instruments, such as drums, rattles, and stringed instruments, and even got to listen to traditional sounds that have been passed down through generations.
One of the most intriguing lessons of the day was learning how birds were used as messengers in the past. Before modern communication, different bird species played a crucial role in sending messages between communities, an ancient practice that fascinated our young learners.
It was a day filled with curiosity, discovery, and fun, reinforcing our theme while helping the children appreciate Kenya’s diverse cultural heritage. We look forward to more exciting activities as we continue our journey of exploring cultures around the world!
